Mixed Media Collage

My interest in mixed media collages was sparked during the high days of the Covid-19 pandemic. In my collages I use vintage images, cabinet photos, magazine images and old scrap books. Those materials evoke imagined history and pictures of magical legends. The serious and stern faces of the figures I choose provide an ironic counterpoint to the humor and levity I try to inject into the work. My pieces combine all forms of iconography, creating alter-pieces for everyday life, tell a story about the complexity of life, full of concealed and revealed messages.
